Deep Understanding of Quranic Teachings Required for Quran Instructors: Lebanese Expert

IQNA – Haitham Salim Ayyash, a Lebanese Quran expert, stressed the need for Quran teachers to have a deep understanding of the Holy Book’s teachings.

Speaking to IQNA’s correspondent in Lebanon Rima Fares, Ayyash said Quran teachers must also have a strong ability to convey religious and moral values.

In addition, he said, teaching Quranic sciences requires a profound understanding of Islamic Sharia.

Ayyash, who is from a town in Nabatieh in Southern Lebanon, said that in early childhood, he got interested in listening to Quran recitations by prominent qaris.    

He then joined the Dawah and Irshad Quranic Institute to learn the Quran and obtain a Quran recitation permission.

Gradually, he enhanced his Quranic knowledge and started teaching the Quran and serving as a judge in the field of Lahn and Ibtida in Quran competitions.

He said the Quranic courses organized by the Dawah and Irshad Institute in Lebanon help to promote the Quranic culture in society.

Teaching Quran recitation, Lahn and interpretation helps students better understand the Holy Book, Ayyash added.
